Privacy Policy

AumChat is a customer-chat service made by AumCreate (Singapore). It has two kinds of users: site owners, who add the chat widget to their website and answer from the web dashboard or the AumChat apps; and visitors, who chat through that widget. This policy covers both.

What we collect

Site owners

• Account: you sign in with your AumCreate account. We receive your AumCreate user ID, name and email. We never see or store your password.
• Sites: the domain, widget settings, canned replies, rules and product catalogue you set up.
• Devices: when you sign in on the iOS, macOS, Android or Windows app we store a push token and the app version so we can notify you about new chats.
• Usage counters: how many AI replies each site used this month, for plan limits.

Visitors

• Messages you send through the widget, any files you attach, and the replies you get.
• Contact details only if you type them in (for example an email so the site can follow up).
• Technical context: browser user agent, language, the page you were on and the referring page, a random visitor ID kept in your browser so the chat continues across pages, and the country your connection comes from (as reported by our hosting provider). We do not store IP addresses.

How we use it

• To deliver messages between visitors and the site that runs the widget.
• To let site owners see, search, label, summarise and export their conversations.
• To send site owners notifications (in-app, push, or email if no device is reachable).
• To generate automatic replies and conversation summaries when the site owner turns AI on.
• To enforce limits and stop abuse.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use conversations for advertising.

Who else sees it

• The site owner sees everything a visitor sends to their site.
• AI provider: when AI replies or summaries are enabled, the text of the conversation (not visitor contact details) is sent to a language-model API to produce the reply.
• Push services: Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging and, for Windows, the app's own connection, receive a short notification (site name and a message preview).
• Email: our mail provider delivers notification emails to site owners.
• Hosting: data is stored on servers we rent; we choose the region when we deploy.

We share data with authorities only when legally required.

How long we keep it

• Conversations are kept for the retention period the site owner sets (default 12 months after the conversation closes; owners can choose a shorter period or delete a visitor's whole history at any time).
• Attachments are deleted together with their conversation.
• Push tokens are deleted when a device signs out or the token stops working.
• Deleting a site deletes its conversations, visitors and attachments. Deleting your AumCreate account removes your AumChat data.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete your personal data by emailing hello@aumcreate.com. Visitors should first contact the website they chatted with, since that site controls the conversation; we will help if they don't respond.

Children

AumChat is not directed at children under 13 and site owners must not use it to knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes are announced to site owners by email.

Terms of Service

1. The service. AumChat provides a chat widget, a dashboard and apps for answering website visitors. Plans and limits are listed on the AumCreate website; the free plan shows a "Powered by AumChat" badge in the widget that cannot be removed.
2. Your account. You need an AumCreate account. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to answer chats.
3. Your content and your visitors. You own the conversations on your sites. You are the data controller for your visitors: you must have a lawful basis to collect what your widget collects, tell your visitors about it in your own privacy notice, and honour their requests. You must not use AumChat to send spam, harass people, or collect data you are not allowed to collect.
4. Acceptable use. No illegal content, no malware, no attempts to attack the service or other tenants, no reselling the service without permission.
5. AI replies. Automatic replies are generated by a language model and can be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing what the AI says to your visitors and for turning it off if it is unsuitable for your site.
6. Availability. We aim for the service to be available but do not guarantee it. We can change or discontinue features with reasonable notice and can suspend accounts that break these terms.
7. Liability. The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, AumCreate is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.
8. Law. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
